Handling Payment Questions

This section outlines common questions related to donor compensation, including eligibility, bonuses, and payment scenarios. Please review these guidelines to ensure consistent and accurate communication with donors.

Base Payment and Levels

As a brief reminder, our donors earn a base payment determined by their current level. This is directly related to how often they donate. Base payment ranges from $25 for new donors (or Level 0) to $40 at Level 7. Level 7 is currently our highest level available. 

Time Incentive

We offer time incentives as bonuses for scheduling donations during less busy periods at our centers. To receive a time incentive bonus, the donor must arrive and check in for their appointment within their scheduled 20-minute time slot. There is a 5-minute grace period on either end of the check-in window. If a donor arrives outside of this window, they will not receive the time incentive.

Time incentive calculations are dynamic and fluctuate based on current availability. If you cancel an appointment, there is a risk that the time incentive will change, even if you try to reselect the same time slot. 
You can always see the donor's check-in time in Buoy. If you are aware of an issue with the tablets, or if you know a donor was in the center on time, but missed the check-in window, please use your center's Teams channel to tag Member Experience and let us know. 

Power Ups

In addition to the time incentive, we offer a variety of challenges, called Power Ups, for donors to boost their earnings. Always go by the value the donor sees within the app when discussing bonuses, as some offers can vary from donor to donor. If a donor has questions about a particular bonus, or compares what they are receiving with another donor, please use the following positioning:

Please note that Parachute often runs different types of promotions and offers. Not all members may be eligible for each promotion, but be sure to keep an eye out on the app for new and upcoming bonuses. You may find you are eligible for a different one in the future.

Birthday Bonuses

We love it when our donors choose to spend part of their special day with us! Any donor who completes a donation on their birthday will receive a $5 Birthday Bonus within 24 hours of their donation if their birthday falls Monday - Thursday, or the following Monday if their birthday falls on Friday. This is a manual payment processed by the Member Experience Team, but we do not require any action from center staff other than to recognize and celebrate the donor's special day.
